Kalagara Sai Lakshmana Rao known as K S Lakshmana Rao (born 11 July 1956) is an Ex Member of Legislative Council (MLC) of Andhra Pradesh.

Background and Family life

Mr Rao was born in Pothunuru, a village near Denduluru in the West Godavari District on 11 July 1956, the elder son of Swargeeya Kalagara Venkateswara Rao and Jaya Lakshmi.He earned a master's degree in Political Science from the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and worked as Lecturer at the Hindu College, Guntur,[1] for nearly 25 years. In the year 2007, Mr Rao took voluntary retirement and contested the election for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council representing Krishna-Guntur Teachers Constituency. He won the election after the second-preference votes were counted and entered the Council for the first time.[1] He was re-elected in 2009 with over 76% of the first-preference votes.He is contesting again for the third time as incumbent in the AP Council Elections expected to be held in February–March, 2015 [2]
