Kalabaydh is a large town part of Woqooyi Galbeed region of Somaliland. It is considered the fourth largest town in Gabiley District.
Overview
The city is bordered by two major cities, Gabiley and Borama. It is a major farm business centre in Gabiley District.
Economy
Kalabaydh's residents are primarily farmers. They own a lot of farm land and raise camels, cattle, sheep and goats. The town is a huge agricultural and livestock area and has a connection railway between Wajaale and Hargeisa, taking advantage of its economical strategical location.
Demographics
The total population of Kalabaydh is 16,657 and is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group. Kalabaydh is exclusively inhabited by the Jibril Abokor sub-division of the Habr Awal clan.[1] Kalabaydh is considered to be the traditional capital of the Ali Jibril, a sub-clan of the Jibril Abokor sub-division of Habr Awal.
