Early life

His grandfather Pt. Ganapatrao Gurav was a first batch disciple of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, founder of Kirana Gharana. By the age of 5, he had started systematic training in classical singing from his father Pt. Sangmeshwar Gurav. He began his training under him, who introduced him to some of the intricacies of Khayal gayaki. He is a Gold Medallist of M.A. Music from Karnataka University. He started his education in music at very early age. He is endowed with a melodious, fluid and high pitched voice.[4]

Career

He has several albums to his credit. He is the youngest Hindustani Classical vocalist to get a top grade by 'All India Radio' (India’s national radio channel) and 'Doordarshan' (India’s national television channel).

Pt. Kaivalyakumar has performed majority places in India including New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Gwalior, Chandigarh, Vrindavan, Varanasi, Goa. He has performed all over India and abroad in many prestigious music conferences like Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav, Mysore Dasara Festival, Shankarlal Festival,Gandharva Mahavidyalay Sangeet Sammelan etc. Recipient of numerous awards he has many published albums to his credit. He has travelled all over the world including United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Dubai, Muscat, Qatar and many more.[5][6]
