K. Scott Murphy
K. Scott Murphy has been a counselor to Stephen M. Veazey in the First Presidency of the Community of Christ since April 2013. He was nominated by Veazey on January 3, 2013, and his appointment was approved by the membership of the church at a World Conference of the church held April 2013 in Independence, Missouri.[1][2]
Murphy previously served as Co-President of the Council of Twelve Apostles from 2011, and was Director of Field Ministries, World Service Corps and Military Chaplains from 2010.
Murphy is a native of Washington state and is an alumnus of Eastern Washington University, the University of Washington, and Graceland University.
