Karen Denise Aubert (born December 6, 1978) better known as K.D. Aubert or K.D. Rose, is an American actress, fashion model and singer.[1] She owns her own Record Label called Roseland Records a.k.a Roseland Entertainment.[2]

Early life

K.D. Aubert was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and is of African-American and Louisiana Creole (African American, Native American, and French) descent, describing herself as "African-American with a dash of Creole".[3] She grew up in Riverside & Los Angeles & attended San Diego State University, where she played on the Aztec softball team.

Early career

She was discovered working behind the make-up counter at Macy's.[4] She has modeled for Victoria's Secret, Noxzema, Frederick's of Hollywood, Escada and many more. She co-hosted MTV's Kidnapped and has gone on to star in several films and music videos.[4]

Commercials

Aubert is also one of the four original Fantanas, a female group of spokesmodels appearing in TV commercials for the soft drink Fanta. She was the Strawberry Fanta.[5] She is featured as the Strawberry Fantana with her fellow Fantanas in the Maxim magazine online girl gallery and was ranked #91 and #97 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2003[6] and 2004,[7] respectively. K.D Aubert was in a Old Spice commercial with Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers.[8] She has also been in a commercial for Bacardi, Miller Lite, Go Daddy, Beats By Dr.Dre, and Cola. Karen has just finished a commercial with George Clooney and Nespresso.[9]

Movie career

Karen got her start in the movieThe Scorpion King starring Dwayne Johnson as one of the Harlots.[10] K.D Aubert's big break came when she was cast as Donna in the movie Friday After Next which was directed by Marcus Raboy & produced by Ice Cube.[11] Karen also had 2 roles in the movie Hollywood Homicide.[12] She also starred in the movie DysEnchanted as Little Red Riding Hood with Jim Belushi.[13] Karen was also in the movie Soul Plane as Giselle which was directed by Jessy Terrero and co starred Snoop Dogg as Captain Mack, Tom Arnold as Mr. Hunkee, & Kevin Hart as Nashawn Wade.[14] She also played Eliza in the movie Frankenfish which co starred Tory Kittles, & China Chow.[15] In 2005 K.D played Cherise in the movie In the Mix with Usher, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Chazz Palminteri, and others.[16] In 2007 Karen was cast as Julie the Waitress in the movie The Grand (film) which starred Ray Romano, Woody Harrelson, Cheryl Hines, and many more.[17] In 2008 K.D Aubert played April May in Surfer, Dude that starred Matthew McConaughey, Willie Nelson, and distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment.[18] In 2013 K.D Aubert was nominated & won a Africa Movie Academy Award for her role in the movie Turning Point [19] as well as the Turning Point cast who also won several awards at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards AMAA.[20]
