Justin Hamilton (born July 27, 1993) is an American football defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisiana–Lafayette.

Early years

Justin Hamilton was born to Michael and Clementine Hamilton, and is the youngest of four siblings. Hamilton attended Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi where he graduated in 2011.[1]

College career

Hamilton committed to the Louisiana–Lafayette on February 2, 2011. Hamilton played all four years with the Ragin' Cajuns, playing in 51 games over that span. Hamilton recorded 102 tackles, 29 for a loss of yards, and tallied 14 sacks.[1] As a Senior in 2014, Hamilton was named First Team All-Sun Belt Conference.[2]

Professional career

Buffalo Bills

On May 3, 2015, after going undrafted, Hamilton signed with the Buffalo Bills.[3] On August 31, 2015 Hamilton was waived as part of the Bills trimming their roster to 75.[4]

Green Bay Packers

On October 26, 2015, Hamilton was signed by the Green Bay Packers to their practice squad.[5] On November 10, 2015 Hamilton was waived from the practice squad to make room for Eric Crume.[6]

Seattle Seahawks

On November 17, 2015 Hamilton was signed by the Seattle Seahawks to their practice squad.[7] On November 26, 2015 Hamilton was waived by the Seahawks.[8] On December 1, 2015 Hamilton was re-signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.[9] On December 15, 2015 Hamilton was again waived by the Seahawks.[10] The following day Hamilton found himself back on the practice squad.[11] On December 22, 2015 Hamilton was waived from the practice squad.[12] On December 30, 2015, the Seahawks signed Hamilton back to the practice squad.[13] On January 19, 2016 Hamilton signed a futures contract with the Seattle Seahawks.[14]

On September 5, 2016, Hamilton was waived by the Seahawks and was signed to the practice squad the next day.[15][16] On September 13, 2016, he was released from the Seahawks' practice squad.[17] He was re-signed to the practice squad on October 25, 2016.[18]

Philadelphia Eagles

On January 23, 2017, Hamilton signed a futures contract with the Eagles.[19]
