Judy Schwomeyer (married name Sladky; born November 14, 1950[1]) is an American ice dancer and actress. As a figure skater, she competed with partner James Sladky. They were five time (1968–1972) U.S. national champions.[2] They are the 1970 World silver medalists and the 1969 & 1971-1972 World bronze medalists.[3]
With coach Ron Ludington, Schwomeyer & Sladky created the Yankee Polka compulsory dance.[4] They first performed it as a competitive program in 1969.
Following their retirement from competitive skating, Schwomeyer & Sladky skated professionally. Schwomeyer also became an actress. She is the Muppeteer of Alice Snuffleupagus in Sesame Street and portrayed Snoopy in Jingle All the Way.
She and Sladky later married and were divorced 19 years later.[5] They were inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1991.
