Career

Early career

Nolan began his career with Everton's academy before he entered non-league football with Stockport County in 2011. He then spent three years at Lincoln City during which time he had a spell on loan at Wrexham.

Grimsby Town

In January 2016, Nolan joined National League side Grimsby Town on a contract until the end of the season, helping them to play off triumph over Forest Green Rovers, and promotion to League Two.[1]

Chesterfield

In May 2016 Nolan joined League One side Chesterfield on a free transfer after his Grimsby contract expired.[2] He made his Football League debut on 6 August 2016 in a 1–1 draw away at Oxford United.[3] He scored his first goal for the club on 13 November 2016, in an eventual 4-1 defeat to Sheffield United.[4] On 3 December 2016, he was sent off in a 5-0 FA Cup loss to Wycombe Wanderers following a challenge on Dominic Gape.[5]

Shrewsbury Town

Following Chesterfield's relegation, Nolan moved to Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee on 12 June 2017, signing a three-year deal. The move re-united him with former Grimsby Town manager Paul Hurst.[6]
