John Weir (born 1959) is an American writer.[1] He is best known for his 1989 novel The Irreversible Decline of Eddie Socket, which won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Debut Fiction at the 2nd Lambda Literary Awards in 1990.[1]
Weir worked primarily as an assistant professor of English at City University of New York, and as a contributing writer to publications such as Details, The Advocate, The Village Voice and Rolling Stone.[1] His second novel, What I Did Wrong, was published in 2006.[2]
