John Ott (born 1988) is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Ott fought in local events before signing with Bellator Fighting Championships in 2010. Currently he fights for Titan Fighting Championships. He is known for his heart and determination.

MMA career

Ott began fighting locally in 2006 and landed his first professional MMA bout in December 2007. Through 2009, he went 6-6, with three submissions and two knockout victories.

Ott made his Bellator Fighting Championships debut against Brian Imes at Bellator 26 on August 26, 2010, winning a unanimous decision victory.[1]

In early 2011, Ott signed with Titan Fighting Championships and stepped in for James Jack to face former WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley on March 26, 2011 at Titan FC 17.[2] Lashley bloodied Ott in the first and second rounds and almost finished him with vicious ground strikes, but became exhausted and had to settle for a unanimous decision.[3]

The effort earned Ott another appearance for the promotion, facing former UFC veteran Jake Rosholt at Titan FC 18 on May 27, 2011. After being dominated for most of the fight, Ott got a break when Rosholt landed an illegal knee, resulting in a disqualification victory for Ott. However, on June 21, 2011, the Kansas Athletic Commission changed the ruling to a no-contest, stating that the knee was unintentional.[4]
