John Lesher (born May 12, 1966) is an American film producer best known for winning the Academy Award for Best Picture for 2014 film Birdman.[1]
Career
Lesher is a producer for independent film studio LBI Entertainment.[2] His first film credit is for David Ayer's 2012 cop-drama End of Watch. In 2014, he produced the World War II drama Fury, also written and directed by Ayer, and won the Academy Award for Best Picture for producing Birdman under his production company, Le Grisbi Productions.[3] He produced the 2015 film Black Mass, starring Johnny Depp, which portrays the life of Boston mobster Whitey Bulger.
