John Bell QC (hon.), FBA, FRSA, is professor of law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge^[1] and a Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge.^[2]

Prior to appointment to his current position in 2001, he was professor of law at the University of Leeds (1989-2001)^[1] and fellow and tutor in law at Wadham College, Oxford (1979-1989).^[1]

He is an honorary member of Hardwicke Chambers.^[3] He was ordained as a permanent deacon within the Catholic Church in July 2012.^[4]

Bell's academic interests include comparative law, jurisprudence, public law, and European Law.^[1]
