Jivaka, also titled Jivaka Komarabhacca (Jīvaka Komārabhacca), was a physician in Ancient India and a major lay follower of Gautama Buddha. He lived in the Magadha capital of Rajagaha in the time of King Bimbisara (and later Ajatashatru).[1] He was trained in Ayurveda medicine, Jivaka was also well versed in Asana and meditation practice. Believed to have been inspired by the teachings of the Buddha.
