Jim Kozimor
Jim Kozimor is the play-by-play announcer for the Major League Soccer team San Jose Earthquakes on Comcast SportsNet California, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area on television and KLIV 1590 for games televised nationally on radio.[1] In addition, Kozimor also serves as an anchor for SportsNet Central at CSN Bay Area. Kozimor was a television and radio personality for the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Monarchs. His duties for the Kings included hosting the warm-up and wrap-up show House Party Live and occasional radio calls of the game on The Kings' Radio Network. Kozimor additionally hosted Kings Talk and the nightly Jim Kozimor ShowGram[2] on KHTK, 1140 AM. For the Monarchs he similarly hosted the weekly Monarchs Talk show and served as the radio and television play-by-play announcer for the team.
In addition to his obligations to Sacramento's basketball franchises, Kozimor served as the host of Comcast SportNet's Oakland Raiders televised press conferences and serves as the play-by-play announcer for other local sports on the channel.
2008 Beijing Olympics
Kozimor served as the play by play announcer for NBC Sports coverage of Badminton at the 2008 Summer Olympics.[3]
2009 Layoff and Return to KHTK
As part of a 1% reduction in force (12 employees)[4] in May 2009, Maloof Sports and Entertainment released Kozimor from his 11-year role as broadcaster for the organization. Initial reports[5][6] did not identify Kozimor as one of the 12 cut from the organization.
In July 2009, it was announced that he will host another show from 12-3pm on KHTK.
Netting a 0.8 share with his timeslot in 22nd place, he was removed from that time slot for the return of Don Geronimo to the 12-4 time slot.
2010 San Jose Earthquakes
Kozimor became the new San Jose Earthquakes play-by-play announcer on CSN California and CSN Bay Area in March 2010, replacing the team's previous play-by-play announcer John Shrader, who shifted over to the color analyst role.[7] In 2012, with the hiring of Anthony Passarelli and former Earthquakes player Jeff Agoos to form the new radio crew for games broadcast on CSN California and CSN Bay Area, Kozimor and the television crew formed by Kelly Gray (who replaced John Shrader) and sideline reporter Dan Dibley began to broadcast on radio games involving the Earthquakes nationally (NBC, NBC Sports and ESPN2 in English)
SportsNet Central
On April 4, 2011, Kozimor was hired by Comcast SportsNet Bay Area as an anchor for SportsNet Central, though he will continue as a play-by-play announcer for the San Jose Earthquakes.[8]
