Jiří Orság (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjɪr̝iː ˈorsaːk]; born 5 January 1989 in Znojmo) is a Czech weightlifter.[1]

Post Sanction

After Jiri was sanctioned for use of Tamoxifen he stopped training for 6 months, Jiri recalls this as very difficult as he would have strong urges to go to the gym. During this time however Jiri began a different healthy lifestyle losing 12 kg and earning a certificate in bodybuilding and becoming a fitness instructor.[2]

Returning to training

When Jiri returned to training it was very difficult he says as if he was re-learning it all over as if he hadn't touched it in 10 years. The barbell was very heavy, and the first few weeks he was working on technique and the movements, but he recounts that the muscle memory helped speed up the process and after 2 months was able to snatch 150 kg.[3] Jiri then (2015) trained by himself and about 3 times per week, and got to a 185 kg snatch which is 5 kg below his best and 220 kg (20 kg below his best).

In this time Jiri would self program, he does snatch, clean and jerk, squats and that was all for primary work, then he would go to do accessories. In this time of rebuilding he practiced the 6 week Russian squat routine. This RSR had Jiri squatting 3 times per week, 6 sets every workout of the same weight, all that changes is the rep scheme. For example, jiri's first of three week of "volume" would have been 6 sets of 4 reps @ 230 kg, the next week 6 sets of 5 reps @ 230 kg, and the final week would have been 6 sets of 6 reps @ 230 kg.

During this period of training, jiri had the objective of competing at the 2015 WWC and the 2016 EWC, these competitions were his motivation. And were necessary to qualify for Rio.[2]
