The Jičín District (Czech: Okres Jičín) is a district (okres) within the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the city of Jičín.

Landscape
The district includes a number of natural reserves. The best known of these is the Český ráj ("Bohemian Paradise") national park, which includes the Prachovské skály ("Prachov Peaks") range of sandstone mountains; the Kost Castle can also be visited here. About 68.5% of the area is agricultural land; 21.5% is forest.
There are around eight natural reserve areas, and further pond areas. The district's small towns, such as Prachov or Sobotka, are often visited by tourists.
Economy
The district is home to the largest deposit of high-quality glass sand within the Czech Republic.[1]
