Jeremy Kimball, (born March 1, 1991) is an American mixed martial arts fighter currently competing in the Light Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2010, Kimball has also formerly competed for Bellator MMA and the RFA.

Background

Kimball was born in Burlington, Vermont but raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, attending Doherty High School. Kimball began training at the age of eight, under the tutelage of his father Ernest, an MMA coach.[2]

Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Kimball compiled an amateur record of 4-1 before turning professional in 2010. He then went 9-3 before being signed by Bellator MMA.

Bellator MMA

Kimball made his promotional debut at Bellator 97 against Keith Berry July 31, 2013 in a catchweight bout of 190 lbs. Kimball won the fight via KO in the second round. After his win over Berry, Kimball it was announced that Kimball would face Perry Filkins in the quarterfinals of the Bellator Season Nine Middleweight Tournament. Kimball lost via rear-naked choke submission in the third round.

Kimball was next squared to face Dan Cramer at Bellator 115 on April 4, 2014, but the bout was scrapped when Kimball missed weight. After losing to Chris Camozzi via submission in his next bout, Kimball moved up to Light Heavyweight and won his next four fights in independent promotions. He was then signed to a four-fight contract with the UFC.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Kimball made his promotional debut on January 28, 2017 against Marcos Rogério de Lima at UFC on Fox: Shevchenko vs. Peña. He lost via TKO in the first round.[3]

Kimball faced Josh Stansbury on June 25, 2017 at UFC Fight Night 112.[4] He won the fight in the first round via TKO.[5] The win also earned Kimball his first Performance of the Night bonus award.[6]
