Jeremiah 18 is the eighteenth chapter of the Book of Jeremiah in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. This book contains the prophecies spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, and is a part of the Books of the Prophets.[1][2]

Verse 6
- “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord.
- “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel![5]
- God as the potter and Israel as the clay "underscores God's complete control" (Isaiah 29:16; Isaiah 45:9);[6] The remolding of the clay to form a vessel fit for the potter "symbolizes God's action in reforming Israel."[7]
