Jeff Trachta (born October 6, 1960 in Staten Island, New York) is an American actor, recording artist, comedian, and Las Vegas headliner.

Biography

Trachta was the son of a Sears television salesman, Trachta remarked "Dad sold TVs for a living but never lived long enough to see me on one". Trachta recalled that his parents were not fond of him choosing show business as a career.

Music

Trachta’s break in Hollywood was as the soap opera character Thorne Forrester on the CBS show The Bold and the Beautiful. He starred in the role for eight years.

Trachta’s debut album "Bold and Beautiful Duets", with Bobbie Eakes, soared to the top of the European charts within one month of its release. "Duets" was the first of his three albums, all of which have achieved triple platinum sales worldwide. Trachta has performed sold-out concerts in stadiums and arenas around the world including Holland, Switzerland, Italy, India, Finland, Germany, Belgium and South Africa.

Stage

Trachta made his Broadway debut starring as Danny Zuko in Tommy Tune’s revival of Grease at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. He also starred in the award-winning one-man play Agency, which ran for over a year in Los Angeles. Trachta received rave reviews and won the coveted Robby Award and Los Angeles Critic Choice Award for Best Performance in a Solo Comedy Play. The show, which Trachta co-wrote, was produced by Castle Rock Entertainment. Trachta received an Ovation nomination and won the 1998 Dramalogue Award for Best Comedy Performance for his role as Kenny Brewster in the Los Angeles premiere of Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down. The Los Angeles Times states, “Trachta’s Kenny is a subversive, tragicomic tour-de-force. Whether he’s playing a Chihuahua in hysterics, singing a heartfelt ballad, or charting the crackup of a comic genius, Trachta is superb.”

Trachta’s other stage credits include: The Phantom in Phantom Of The Opera; Conrad Birdie in Bye, Bye, Birdie with Rue McClanahan, The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors; Andy in Love Letters; Prince Charming in Cinderella, with Steve Allen, Jayne Meadows and Rose Marie, Mr. Newman’s father in the world premiere of The Education of Randy Newman and Joseph in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at ArtPark in New York. In the fall of 2000, Trachta performed in a national tour of Nuncrackers playing Father Virgil.

Trachta has played opposite Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Carol Channing and Robert Klein.

Television & Film

Trachta co-produced and starred in the film Interlocked (a.k.a. Bold Affair). He also starred as the lead in the Franchise Pictures' feature Poison, in Royal Oaks Entertainment's Fatal Passion, and as J.J. in Robby Benson's directorial debut Do It Up.

Trachta’s other television roles include guest appearances on V.I.P., Here Come The Munsters, Strip Mall, Loving and One Life to Live. He has appeared on numerous talk and news shows including Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight and hosted The Miss World pageant. In 2010, he performed on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.

Trachta is currently a contestant on season 12 of America's Got Talent as The Singing Trump.[1]

Live Performances

Trachta headlined for two years at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with the hit "Jeff Trachta Live!", an inimitable variety show that features his comic genius, inspired impersonations, vocal versatility, and slickly choreographed footwork. Las Vegas magazine called the show, "A seamlessly staged comic tour de force."

On Sept. 26, 2008, Trachta brought the show to the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, California, making history as the town's first permanent headliner. In December 2008, he was named ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR by Southern California theater review.

On October 7 and 8, 2011, Trachta was Liza Minnelli's special guest at the Las Vegas Hilton.[2]

On May 17–20, 2012, Trachta headlined the Palms Casino Resort in The Pearl Concert Theater. [3]

On October 7, 2016, Trachta performed "Jeff Trachta Live!" in the Royal Theater of the cruise ship Anthem of the Seas.
