Career

Jean was a senior medical correspondent for CNN (Cable News). She has appeared on numerous television programs, including the Today Show, Good Morning America and Dateline. For 14 years she wrote a weekly column called EatSmart, for Gannett’s Sunday supplement, USA Weekend that appeared in 600 newspapers nationwide with a readership of 50 million. Jean still writes occasionally for The Huffington Post about Alzheimer's disease, and is producing an independent documentary on the disease, to be released in 2013.

She is the author of 24 books, mostly on nutrition, health, and natural remedies, including two cookbooks. Earlier in her career, she was an investigative reporter and consumer advocate and wrote books on social issues, including The Dark Side of the Marketplace with Senator Warren Magnuson, D. Washington state, Bitter Greetings: the Scandal of the Military Draft, and Not With a Gun, a case history of a fraud against the poor in Washington, D.C. Her success as a medical journalist has been credited to her ability to accurately translate research in ways understandable to the average person. Her books on health have been translated into 20 foreign languages and are still sold and read throughout the world.

She received an “excellence in journalism” award for her ground-breaking book, Stop Aging Now! from the American Aging Association, made up of leading researchers in aging. After the release of Stop Aging Now, her readers urged her to formulate an all-in-one multi-vitamin based on her research. By popular demand, she produced a multi vitamin anti-aging formula in 1996, called Stop Aging Now! She sold the company in 2007 and no longer has any connection with the company, nor the formulation or sale or promotion of any nutritional supplements.
