Jayakumar Jitendrasinh Rawal is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Sindkheda Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party[2] Rawal was also Member of Legislative Assembly from Sindkheda in 2009.[3] Rawal was one of the general secretaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party Maharashtra State unit in 2013.[4]

Jayakumar appointed as Cabinet Minister in Expansion of Devendra Fadnavis Ministry and appointed as Tourism, Employment Guarantee Scheme[5] on 8 July 2016.[6]

Controversy

On 20 March 2013, Rawal was suspended as legislator in relation to the alleged beating up of police officer Sachin Suryawanshi, in the Assembly complex.[7] A state legislature investigating committee later found him not guilty and his suspension was revoked.[8] According to a report in Loksatta, Rawal has been allegedly involved in many criminal activities and has cases against him in relation to murderous assault, kidnapping of a councillor, attempt to murder rioting and financial fraud.[9]
