The Rochester Mayoral Election of 2017 is an upcoming election to determine who will hold the office of Mayor of Rochester, New York in the upcoming term. The election will take place on November 7, 2017.
Primaries
The Democratic Primary will take place on September 12, 2017.
Declared Candidates
As of April, six candidates have declared their intent to run:
Democratic Party
- Lovely A. Warren, incumbent Mayor of Rochester. [1]
- James M. Sheppard, former Chief of the Rochester Police Department and current member of the Monroe County Legislature representing the 23rd district. [2]
- Rachel Barnhart, former State Assembly candidate and broadcast journalist for WHAM-TV and WROC.[3]
- 1Alex White, local business owner and former Green Party candidate for mayor.[4]
Republican Party
- Tony Micchiche, current member of the Monroe County Legislature representing the 26th district.[5]
Green Party
- 1Alex White.
Independent
- Lori Thomas, retired teacher. [6]
