James Sheppard (MP)

James Sheppard (c. 1681–1730), of Honiton, and Lawell, Chudleigh, Devon, was an English politician.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of Great Britain for Honiton in 17 February 1711 – 1715 and 1727 – 10 April 1730.[1]

The monument he requested in his will to be erected in Honiton Church, with his bust, was destroyed in the fire of March 1911, but the panel with the inscription was preserved and is now on the south wall of the church.[2]
