James Manuel Pazos (born May 5, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the New York Yankees.

Career

Pazos was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 40th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft out of Highland High School in Gilbert, Arizona. He did not sign and attended the Chandler–Gilbert Community College to play college baseball. After one year, he transferred to the University of San Diego to play for the Toreros.

Pazos was then drafted by the New York Yankees in the 13th round of the 2012 MLB Draft.[1] He made his professional debut with the Staten Island Yankees. He spent 2013 with Staten Island and the Charleston RiverDogs. After the season, he played for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.[2] Pazos played 2014 with the Tampa Yankees and Double-A Trenton Thunder and returned to Trenton to start 2015.[3] The Yankees promoted Pazos to the major leagues on September 1,[4] and he made his major league debut on September 5.

Pazos was traded from the Yankees to the Seattle Mariners for Zack Littell on November 18, 2016.[5]
