James Jones (documentary maker)
James Jones is a British documentary filmmaker.[1]
Career
James Jones is an Emmy Award-winning and five-time BAFTA-nominated director. His films are broadcast around the world, primarily on the BBC, Channel 4 and PBS Frontline.[2][3][4]
He started directing documentaries in 2011 for Channel 4's Unreported World series. His first television film was Nigeria: Sex, Lies and Black Magic (2011).[5] His film Children of the Gaza War was broadcast on the BBC in July 2015 on the first anniversary of the 2014 Gaza war.[6] His most recent work was the critically acclaimed feature-length documentary "Unarmed Black Male".
His films have won an Emmy, a Royal Television Society, a Grierson, two DuPonts, a Mind Media and a Rory Peck Award, and have been nominated five times at the BAFTAs, and at the One World Media, Ilaria Alpi, Amnesty, and Prix Europa Awards.[7]
