James Alexander Iles (born 11 February 1990) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who most recently played for Kent.
Born in Chatham, Medway, Iles signed for Kent as an academy scholar in 2005.[1] Despite only making two appearances for the Academy side, and none for the county's second eleven,[2] Iles secured a first-class debut against Cambridge University.[3] In a match which made him Kent's youngest first-class cricketer,[4] he opened his wicket-taking account, having Ian Massey caught by wicket-keeper Paul Dixey.[3]
He made his List A debut the following season in a match against the touring Sri Lanka A side. In a match later abandoned due to rain, Iles bowled six overs, taking the wicket of opening batsman Dilruwan Perera.[5]
He also played rugby to a reasonably high standard, representing Kent for three years.[6]
