James Dutton is an English actor.[1] He notably played Captain F. J. Roberts in the world premiere of The Wipers Times at the Watermill Theatre. Written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman and produced by Academy Award winner David Parfitt the production transferred to the West End and opened at the Arts Theatre in 2017.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
Theatre
Dutton trained at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. In 2013 Dutton was nominated for London Newcomer Of The Year in the WhatsOnStage Awards for the Park Theatre revival of Thark by Ben Travers in which he starred alongside Clive Francis.[14][15][16][17]
Other theatre work includes: Michael Frayn's Donkeys' Years alongside Jemma Redgrave and Jamie Glover. Stanhope in Journey's End at the Octagon Theatre. Directed by David Thacker it was nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award [18]
In 2015 Dutton appeared in Noises Off as Gary Lejeune at the Octagon Theatre, winning a Manchester Theatre Award.[19]
