James Darling (priest)

James George Reginald Darling (31 October 1868 - 24 July 1938) was Archdeacon of Suffolk from 1919 [1]

The son of James Darling, Rector of Eyke, he was educated at Haileybury and Jesus College, Cambridge[2] Ordained in 1891 his first post was as curate at Twyford, Hampshire;[3] during which time he was also a master at the local prep school. In 1893 he succeeded his father at Eyke.He was on the East Suffolk Education Committee from 1903; ; Rural Dean of Wilford from 1912; a County Councillor from 1913; and a County Alderman from 1921.[4]
