Jakabaring Sport City


Jakabaring Sport City also known as Jakabaring Sport Complex (Indonesian: Kompleks Olahraga Jakabaring) is an Integrated sport facility complex in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The complex is located 5 kilometers southeast from Palembang city center, across Musi river through Ampera Bridge in Jakabaring, Seberang Ulu I area. It was the main venue of 2011 Southeast Asian Games, 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games, 2014 ASEAN University Games, 2017 Asian Triathlon Championship as well 2018 Asian Games. Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, one of the largest stadium in Indonesia, is located within this complex.

Facilities

Initially the sport complex was built to host 2004 Pekan Olahraga Nasional, an Indonesian national multi-event sport with athletes from 34 Indonesian provinces participated. At that time the complex only consist of Main Stadium and two indoor sport halls Gelora Olahraga (GOR) Dempo and Gelora Olahraga Ranau. Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium also served as host for 2007 AFC Asian Cup. The complex was extensively expanded to host 2011 Southeast Asian Games. This Sport Complex is also Connected By Palembang Light Rail Transit to the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport also connected with Trans Musi . Today the complex consist of:

  11. Indoor and Outdoor Tenis Field
  12. Convention Center
  13. Bowling Arena
  14. MotoGP Circuit (Planned)
  15. Sriwijaya Tourism Polytechnique[1]
