Jajabara is a 1975 Odia language Indian movie. The music was composed by Akshya Mohanty. It was produced by Mr. Bijay Pattnaik, directed by Akshaya Mohanty, Hemanta Das and Bijay Mishra (Trimurty). It stars Sriram Panda, Banaja Mohanty & Tripura Mishra.[1][2] Jajabar was the first black-and-white Odia film and also the first regional film in India to be digitally coloured and the first to be given a theatrical re-release in the state.[3]
Synopsis
Rashbihari Samantrai is a landlord and has two sons Anu and Arup. Anu is an industrialist and plans to start an industry in "Sundari Tota", a place owned by his father and inhabited by rural folks. But Rashbihari promises to donate the "Sundari Tota" to his religious guru for building an Ashram. The villagers requested Rashbihari not evacuate them form "Sundari Tota" as they are leaving in this place since years. But the second son Arup, who has a love interest with one of the village girl Jhili, the habitat of the place revolt back with his father against the decision to donate the land to his religious guru. At last Arup convinces his father and ended with marriage of Arup and Jhili.

Review
The story was based on nomad lifestyle. The nomad turned onto human being falls in love, fight for love and wins love fighting with many ifs and buts. The electrifying love story, with intense comedy, wonderful music has made "Jajabara" a success to remember era together.
Colourisation
The black and white Oriya film 'Jajabara' conversed to colour. With his team of digital artist Tilak Ray and 18 roto artists, Bapu Lenka has made an exceptional effort to revive and preserve the loved movie, making it the first black and white regional film of the country to have been coloured. Never would have been possible without the effort of 21 technocrats, 736 days of time to film. Tilak Ray, the Director of Digital Painting along with his associated roto-artists make it. It contains 2,19,000 frames.[6]
