Jacques-François Delyen

Jacques-François Delyen (25 July 1684 - 3 March 1761) was a French painter, who's focus was in portraiture.

Life

Jacques-François Delyen was born in Ghent. He was an apprentice to Nicolas de Largillierre between 1710 and 1715 and the influence of his master can be seen through their highly similar styles of painting. He was accepted into the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture on 24 November 1725, with his academy pieces being his portraits of Nicolas Bertin and Guillaume Coustou. He exhibited regularly in the Salon between 1737 and 1747.[1]. He died in Paris in 1761.
