J.D. 'Jack' Scott (born 1888 - died 1964) was a pioneer Australian rugby league footballer.

Born in Petersham, New South Wales, Jack Scott played as a winger for the Newtown club. [1] Jack Scott scored the first try for Newtown in the 1908 New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership.[2] J.D. Scott was also a noted Sheffield Shield cricketer, and later a Test Cricket umpire. He moved to South Australia in 1925, and died at Springbank, Adelaide in 1964.
