Izet Ibrahimi eng. dip. (born January 1, 1962) is an Albanian politician from Kosovo, and a former Mayor of the Municipality of Drenas.
Early life
Izet Ibrahimi was born near Glogovac, Kosovo to Albanian parents.[1] He finished elementary school in his birthplace, Zabel i Ulet, in 1977 while he finished high school in Prishtina in 1981.[1] He attended the Faculty of Geoscience and Technology of the University of Prishtina and graduated in 1986.
He is married to Hanumshahe Zogaj, a Geoscience engineer, and he has three children: Qëndrim, Hekuran and Erëza.
Education
He finished elementary school in his birthplace Zabel i Ulet, then at High School he was at "Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu" Gymnasium.
The basic studies, he ended in 1986 at the University of Prishtina, and earned a graduate Engineer title on the theme "Material balance of Ferronikel production process".
In 1995 he enrolled to graduate for Master of Science, and took the title: Master of Technical Sciences.
He enrolled in 2008 the Doctoral thesis titled: "Opportunities to bramces exploitation of ferronikel for producing construction materials", which defended at the Faculty of Geoscience and Technology of University of Pristina and received the academic title: Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Scientific experience
During his scientific work, Mr.Ibrahimi has over 30 scientific publications in the field of technical sciences in our scientific journals and international ones. He is author of more than 10 books,all about technical sciences.
Now he is publishing his new book about his professional engagement on new ways producing minerales, with ecological approach
Political commitment
Izet Ibrahimi has a political activity more than three decades. When young he acted in the Time of National Movement for the Liberation of Kosovo.

After the Liberation of Kosovo, he has been Chairman and co-founder of the Democratic Party of Kosovo branch in Drenas, member of the General Board of PDK, for three terms.
On the first democratic elections after the Kosovo War, as a Candidate for Mayor of Drenas from PDK, he won quite a high percentage, over 90%. During that time he and his team tried to rebuild the city and the villages, that were destroyed by the Serbian paramilitary army.
Areas of their work were: Health, Education, Employment and Social Temptations for families. They tried to commemorate those who fought for freedom and liberation by raising for them monuments, the school and roads were appointed by their names.
After leaving the PDK, Mr.Ibrahimi founded and leaded the "Citizens Initiative for Drenas", a political movement that opposed the misrule in Drenas.
Now he is dedicated to his professional work as a lecturer at UM on geoscience and metallurgy.
