Ivica Tucak (born 8 February 1970) is a Croatian water polo coach and former water polo player. He currently coaches the Croatian national team from September 16, 2012.[1]
Career
Playing career
Tucak in his career played for junior and senior team of Šibenik, local club in Šibenik-Knin County, Brodograditelj from Betina on Murter, Crvena zvezda and Medveščak from Zagreb. He was a popular player.
Coaching career
Tucak his career starts as head coach of Croatian junior team, with Croatian coach Veselin Djuho.
Later, Tucak coached Montenegrian Jadran Herceg Novi from 2010 to 2012, and he also was an assistant coach of Ratko Rudić in Croatian national team. He also coached Šibenik.
From September 16, 2012 he coaches Croatian national team. His assistants are Mile Smodlaka and Pero Kuterovac at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships.
With Croatia NT, Tucak become world champion on the World Cup 2017 in Budapest.
Personal life
He was born in Šibenik.
He is married to Marijana Tucak, with whom had a daughter Tena, who has tragically died on June 21, 2005 in Šibenik of the consequences of falling toys to her.
He graduated from Water Polo at the Zagreb Faculty of Kinesiology in 2013, and his mentor was Croatian retired water polo player Dubravko Šimenc.
In 2009, City of Šibenik awarded him for Best Trainer Award.
He is currently nominated for ever more Best Trainer Award of City of Šibenik, 2017.
