Ivars Knēts

Ivars Knēts, (born September 17, 1938, Riga, Latvia) has been a rector and professor at Riga Technical University, as the Director of the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomechanics. Corresponding Member Latvian Academy of Sciences. Academician Academia Scientiarum et Artium Europaea.^[1]

Biography

• 1961-1963 — Junior Research Associate, Riga Polytechnic Institute,
• 1963-1969 — Senior Research Associate, Senior Engineer, Head of Research Group, Institute of Polymer Mechanics, Latvian Academy of Sciences.
• 1969-1987 — Director, Research Laboratory of Biomechanics, Institute of Polymer Mechanics, Latvian Academy of Sciences,
• 1990 - 1999 — Pro-Rector for Research and International Relations, Riga Technical University
• 2001 — Director, Institute of Biomaterials and Biomechanics of the Faculty of Materials Science and Applied Chemistry, Riga Technical University
