Ivan Gvozdenović (Serbian Cyrillic: Иван Гвозденовић ; born 19 August 1978 in Bor, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian retired football (soccer) defender who currently works as assistant coach at KF Tirana in the Albanian Superliga.
Career
Gvozdenović played for FK Bor, Radnički Pirot, Napredak Krusevac, FK Milicionar Beograd, Red Star Belgrade, Club Brugge, FC Metz, Dinamo Bucharest, FK Vojvodina, Metalurh Donetsk, Kavala F.C., KF Tirana, KS Skënderbeu Korçë and FK Kukësi. Gvozdenović signed a three-year contract with Dinamo Bucharest in October 2007 on free transfer, but he left the team after only one month, due to a change of coach. Gvozdenović was told that he did not feature in the new coach's plans. On 21 August 2009 FK Vojvodina have signed the experienced defensive midfielder from FK Crvena Zvezda for one season. Gvozdenović previously played for Romanian team Dinamo Bucharest, and Club Brugge.
On 17 May 2010, the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer announced that Gvozdenović had joined the team on trial.[1] He started for the Revs in their friendly match against Benfica on 19 May 2010.[2] However, he did not sign with New England Revolution and went to play for KS Skënderbeu Korçë.He declared his wish is to finish career in FK Bor, the club where he started to play football. Since 2011 until 2014 he played three seasons for KS Skënderbeu Korçë who won the Albanian Championship in all of those three seasons.
International career
His first and only cap for FR Yugoslavia is against Slovenia in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match in September 2001.[3]
Style of play
He is a technical, attacking full-back who also plays midfield.
