Itokin (イトキン, born 3 March 1979) is a member of the Japanese J-pop group ET-King. He has been acting as an MC and track maker.

Biography

He was born from Sanda, Hyōgo. He graduated from Uenodai Junior High School and Arima High School. After going to a welfare specialised training college in Osaka in 1997 after graduating from high school, he had obtained a bonesetter license. His blood type is type A.

The origin of the name "Itokin" is due to being called because of the fact that he resembles Shigeru Ito (commonly known as "Itokin"), a character of the manga Boku to issho during vocational school.

In 1999, he became a member of society, after that he formed ET-king with Tenn and Klutch. Before the formation he was also in charge of the guitar due to his experience of band activities.

His ET-King characteristic costume Happi is numbered "Ichi".

In 2005, he started a joint life with members of ET-King and used the same bedroom as Bucci. Also Bucci was his high school classmate. Currently seven people lived separately.

Acting as a leader of ET-King, he has a central presence such as producing, track making, and composing. He also do graffiti, sculpting, fighting and other experiences. He is in charge of almost all of ET-King's track makings.

Also, since 26 October 2012, he served as a main personality on Fridays of with...Yoru wa Radio to Kimetemasu (live wide programme which MBS Radio broadcasts during the 2012 night off). That was the first time that Itokin appeared regularly on a programme of an AM radio station.

Although he paused in 2014[1], he resumed activities on 1 July 2015, renamed in katakana to a case and announced that he uses the producer name Makoto Takahira.[2]

He announced on 3 August 2017 that he was devoted to treatment due to lung adenocarcinoma.

It was discovered in June by health checks that he received regularly every year, and it turned out to be stage 4.[3].
