Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe gave it a 'B+', saying the song needs a bit more edge but that Nichols "does well enough delivering this country boy’s slacker anthem."[1] Matt C. of Engine 145 gave the song a "thumbs down," criticizing Nichols for not recording substantial songs and saying that "It Ain't No Crime" was "more of the same."[2]
