"It's O.K." is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was released on their 1976 album 15 Big Ones. It was released as a single on August 9, 1976 (with B-side "Had to Phone Ya") and climbed to number twenty-nine on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S. "It's O.K." was subsequently released as the B-side to the single "It's Gettin' Late" on July 17, 1985.
Composition
In 1995, Brian said: "That was written inside Brother Studios in Santa Monica. At the end, where Dennis goes (sings) "Find a ride", we put two of his voices on there, and it sounded fan-tas-tic! Fuckin' fantastic from Dennis."[2]
Live performances
The Beach Boys played the song regularly on tour following its release in 1976, however the song was not played again live till the early 2000s. The song however was included in some setlists during The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Tour with Love on lead vocals and Brian Wilson singing his brother Dennis' part.
