Frommer's says of it, "It hasn't been touched since they opened over 2 decades ago. The rooms need a serious makeover—the property looks like it severely lacking, service tends to be mediocre, and the property is a long way from the town, but the view from Iorana is spectacular enough to make up for these faults."[1] The view of the sunset from the hotel restaurant has been noted.[2] The proprietor as of 2011 was Benito Rapahango, a former officer in the Chilean Navy.[3]
