Intenso Project

Intenso Project are an English electronic music group featuring Ben Ofoedu, DJ Rods, and Leigh Guest (from Double Trouble). On the UK Singles Chart, the band had a #22 hit with "Luv Da Sunshine", a #32 hit with "Your Music" featuring Laura Jaye, and a #23 hit with "Get It On" featuring Lisa Scott-Lee.

Background

The band formed after Ben Ofoedu left Phats & Small[1] and formed a band with DJ Rods (aka Rodney Williams), who he had known since school,[2] and Leigh Guest, a member of Double Trouble.[1][3]

Their first single was "Luv Da Sunshine", which contains interpoltations of 10cc's "Dreadlock Holiday".[3] It charted at #22 on the UK Singles Chart, spending just two weeks there.[4] It has also featured on the compilation albums Hits 53[5] and Now 52.[6] Their second single, "Your Music" featured presenter Laura Jaye and charted at #32 on the UK Singles Chart, also spending two weeks there.[4]

Their third single, "Get It On", featured Lisa Scott-Lee and was promoted with a music video that was self-funded by Intenso and Scott-Lee,[7] and charted at #23 on the UK Singles Chart, spending three weeks on the chart.[4] The relative failure of this record (Scott-Lee had been dropped after producing a record that had charted at #11 on the UK Singles Chart) resulted in her taking a break from music, and the record not being featured on her solo album, Never or Now.[7] It has since been featured on Now 59[8] and Dancing Stage Unleashed 2.[9] It was also performed on Top of the Pops.[10]

In addition, Intenso Project have provided a remix for Aaliyah's "Don't Know What to Tell Ya".[11]
