The Indore–Pune Express is a Mail/Express Train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Pune Junction railway station of Pune, the commercial hub of neighbouring state Maharashtra. It is the second rail connection between Indore and Pune other being Indore–Pune Express. This is first train from Indore to Navi Mumbai.

Traction
Both trains are hauled by a Vadodara Junction railway station based WAP-5 or WAP-4 electric locomotives. Occasionally, it has also been hauled by a WAP-7 locomotive.
At Karjat railway station, both trains get two or three WAG-5, WAG-7 or WCAM-2 bankers of Kalyan Junction railway station shed to push the train on the ghat section between Karjat railway station and Lonavala railway station, where the gradient is of 1 in 40.
Rake Maintenance
The train is maintained by the Indore Coaching Depot. The same rake is used for Indore-Pune Superfast Express, Indore - Patna Express, Indore – Rajendra Nagar Express, Indore–Nagpur Express and Shipra Express for one way which is altered by the second rake on the other way.
