Ignazio Danti, O.P. or Pellegrino Danti (1536–1586) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Alatri (1583–1586).[1][2][3][4]
Biography
Ignazio Danti was born in Perugia, Italy in Apr 1536 and ordained a priest in the Order of Preachers.[2] On 14 Nov 1583, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Gregory XIII as Bishop of Alatri.[1][2] On 30 Nov 1583, he was consecrated bishop by Giovanni Antonio Facchinetti de Nuce, Patriarch of Jerusalem. with Giovanni Battista Santorio, Bishop of Alife, and Gerolamo Mazzarelli, Bishop of Nona, serving as co-consecrators.[2] He served as Bishop of Alatri until his death on 10 Oct 1586.[2]
While bishop, he was the principal co-consecrator of Marco Pedacca, Bishop of Lacedonia (1584); and Basilio Gradi, Bishop of Stagno (1584).[2]
