The iglesia de San Andrés is a church located in the city of Toledo, in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. In the iglesia de San Andrés, as is common in this city, different styles coexist. On the one hand, there are present Mudéjar and Gothic architecture, and, on the other, the Baroque, following the remodeling of the 17th century. After the last restoration interesting traceries appeared in the facade that evoke the eclecticism of the croissing. It was also discovered a Visigoth relief and two pilasters from the same period.[1]

Of the style Mudéjar remains remains within the temple and in the two covers, both framed with horseshoe arch.

Its main entrance is the first to catch the eye, the only one of its kind in Toledo, in an almohad style bearing strange little green ceramic columns over the door. The capitals are Visigoth, the mosque past being represented by a funereal pilaster.[2]

During the 16th Century the solid late gothic head was added, with exterior buttresses that compensate for the considerable change in height, while its interior features a delicate vault and palm arch ribs with honeycomb work in the transept naves.

Mummies

In the crypt of this church, as well as in other churches of Toledo, there are some mummies of infantes, dukes and nuns, that are in sight of the visitor. Those of this church stand out because of their number and state of conservation.[3]
