Idol Drama Operation Team (Hangul: 아이돌 드라마 공작단) is a 2017 South Korean television program. The show will be on broadcast through Naver TVCast and Naver V App on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am KST. It will later then be on broadcast through KBS Joy (KBS N) and KBS World from June 10. The show invites 7 girl group members to create their very own Korean drama series by becoming accredited scriptwriters as well as act in the series as fictional versions of themselves. The drama they will be working on will be named Let's Only Walk The Flower Road (Hangul: 꽃길만 걷자), an autobiographical drama. The first episode of the drama will be on broadcast on June 26 at 11am KST through Naver TVCast and Naver V App. It airs daily for 8 episodes until July 3. On July 4, each member's full performances for The Five was revealed.

References to actual events
- Moonbyul's switch from singer to rapper trainee.
- Seulgi's long trainee period in SM Entertainment, and seeing many trainees leaving the agency.
- IM Entertainment is based on WM Entertainment, and was named after Im Won-hee. His role in the drama is a reflection of WM Entertainment CEO Lee Won-min.
- Girls Next Door being in The Five, an imitation of Produce 101 and Sixteen, and So-hee and Somi not being the final five members, as Somi was not a member of Twice and So-hee was not a member of I.O.I.
- D.ana having been in an agency which fire trainees not making the target weight, and trainees sneaking food into the dorm and getting caught, or using food purging and extreme cuts to energy intake to lose weight. She was also courted by the PD of her previous agency (played by Somi when she left IM).
- Sujeong and YooA's negative comments about their looks.
- So-hee being 'Quick' due to East Asian Age Reckoning, so she is 'older' than her actual age. It helps her gain seniority who are born in mid-or late-year, but it also meant she could become an older trainee if she was to remain as a trainee compared to her peers.
- So-hee's grandmother and parents did make an appearance to cheer her on before the project started. So-hee left Busan to start her trainee life in Seoul. She also worked part-time without pay as a waitress in a restaurant.
- Artists and managers amassed massive debts after debut.
- Girls Next Door performing in an event with only few people attended, similar to what happened to Sonamoo in their debut days. They also replaced Apink on short notice at that event.
- Red Velvet going through lineup changes when they added Yeri. This can also be a reference to Twice's Tzuyu and Momo, who originally did not make the final group but were added in after the fact.
- Black Eyed Pilseung and Park Jinyoung being hot in demand for writing songs to the point that managers would borrow more money to pay salaries or commissions for their services (played by Jung Jinyoung, who ironically is a trainee of WM, but his character was a IM trainee that defected to JYP in the series).
- Managers' struggles to organise more appearance for rookie groups, thus increasing their exposure.
- Having to sing acappella when dealing with backing music being cut off due to technician's errors, but garnered great publicity online due to a fancam, much akin to when GFriend completing their performances on wet floors and overcoming slips and falls.
- "Deep Blue Eyes" experiencing a resurgence in the charts due to the fancam that garnered Girls Next Door a lot of attention, similar to what happened to EXID in the end of 2014. Due to this resurgence in the charts, they were recalled to music shows a month after promotions for "Up and Down" had already ended.
- Somi performing an English song/Meghan Trainor songs for The Five; she also did rap and singing performance in English in the first rounds of Sixteen and Produce 101.
