INFOTSAV (Kannada ಇನ್ಫೋತ್ಸವ) is the annual science and technology festival of Department of Master of Computer Applications ( MCA ),[1] Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE).[2][3] Students of MCA organize this event along with few social initiatives.

Seminars

The inaugurations have been done by - Dr B G Sangameshwara, former Principal of SJCE,[4][5] now Joint Director (Academic), JSSMVP;[6][7] Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Tumkur, president, Sri Swami Veereshanandaji.[8] [9] [10][11] [12]

Guest of honours have been - Vice President of Global Hosting and Support, Talisma-USA, Rajendra, now Chairman and Managing Director of Talisma-USA.

Valedictory functions had chief guest as - Late Dr S Rame Gowda,[13][14][15] former Chairman - VET and AICTE.

Also Seminars were delivered by personalities from companies like:

History and Growth

Started in 1996 with the aim of providing Indian student community of MCA a platform for interaction between students and the professionals from the industry, exposure to the currents trends and technology, and to develop and showcase their technical prowess. It is generally conducted during month of October–November.[16]

It was conducted during 14 and 15 October 2006. With seminars on ‘Transition from C to C,’ ‘Innovation as a powerful instrument of globalisation,’ and ‘Embedded Systems.’ Games such as ‘Tame the bug’, ‘Ipso Facto’, ‘Relic hunter’ and ‘Papyrus Presento’ were conducted.[16]

It was conducted on 13 and 14 October 2007.[17]

The IT Fest was held on 11 and 12 October 2008.[18]

INFOTSAV 2013

It was started on 26 and 27 October 2013. Inaugurating the programme, was Chairman and Managing Director of Talisma Corporation, Bangalore, Rajendra C. Mruthyunjayappa, who is also an alumnus of MCA, SJCE, who reiterated that MCA was not just a course but a passion with many challenges to be faced by the students on acquiring the degree.[19] Students from colleges across the country attended this fest to showcase their talents and skills in various fields of IT. The two-day fest saw a string of events being conducted onstage as well as offstage. The onstage events included the icebreaker, best manager, paper presentation and rhythm (culturals). The offstage events consisted of crackers (coding), photofunia (image editing), treasure hunt, clickzz (photography), data digger, newshunt and IT quiz.[20]

INFOTSAV 2014

The former Vice-Chancellor of the Kuvempu University K. Chidananda Gowda inaugurated the festival.[21] He is also the son-in-law of the Kannada playwright, Kuvempu, after whom the Kuvempu University is named.[22] He has published many papers, mainly in the field of pattern recognition. Events conducted were Romper el hielo, Just for Laughs, Lens Arc, Techno Buzz, Master M, Wicth Hunt, Giga Mind, Brass Tack Miner, Game Theory, Code Chef and Rhythm.

INFOTSAV 2015

It was organised on 7 and 8 October 2015, with events like campus quest, aperture, paper presentation, brainiacs, innoventure, ice breaker, gamiacs, dubsmash, foot loose, code jam, best manager and adzap.[8]

Social Initiatives

Boondh

Boondh, a blood donation camp by Project ReachOut was conducted on 9 October 2015 in SJCE Auditorium. Certificates and refreshments were provided to donors.[23]
