"I'm On My Way" is a song by Scottish folk pop duo The Proclaimers for their 1988 album Sunshine on Leith. In 1989, it was released as a single, which made it to number 43 in Great Britain, and number 3 in Australia.[1] The lyrics "I'm on my way from misery to happiness today" differ from I'm on My Way the spiritual of the same name.
The song was used on the soundtrack of DreamWorks's 2001 comedy film Shrek, and also as the theme music of the BBC Radio Four comedy series The Maltby Collection. An instrumental version was used on Are We There Yet?.
In keeping with the groups's support of Scottish football club Hibernian, "I'm On My Way" was played amidst jubilant scenes at Hampden Park immediately after Hibernian's victory in the 2007 Scottish League Cup Final. Kikki Danielsson has covered the song with lyrics in Swedish, written by Ulf Söderberg. This version was named "Jag är på väg", and is on her 1989 album Canzone d'Amore [2] and her 2006 compilation album I dag & i morgon.
