Hyoid apparatus
In veterinary anatomy, the term hyoid apparatus is the collective term used to refer to the bones associated with the larynx — a pair of stylohyoidea, a pair of thyrohyoidea, a pair of epihyoidea, a pair of ceratohyoidea, and unpaired basihyoideum[1] — and associated, upper-gular connective tissues.[2]
In humans, the single hyoid bone is an equivalent of the hyoid apparatus.[3]
