Hussein Kanji
Hussein Kanji is an American venture capitalist resident in London. He is a co-founding managing partner of Hoxton Ventures, an early-stage investment firm, investing across Europe.[1][2] He is regularly cited in major news sources for commentary on the European venture capital ecosystem[3][4][5] particularly the lack of venture capital availability in Europe.[6]
He is also an occasional instructor of venture capital at General Assembly (school)[7] and participated as an interviewee in a Coursera course on venture capital and startup financing.[8]
In 2011 Kanji was cited as the #1 most influential technology investor in Europe by The Telegraph.[9]
Personal history
Prior to his work at Hoxton, Kanji was an investor at Accel Partners and a product manager at Microsoft[10]
Television appearances
Kanji is a regular guest on Bloomberg television providing commentary for various technology topics, most often regarding Microsoft and Apple Inc.[11][12][13]
Brexit
Kanji has been particularly vocal around Brexit and the impact on technology firms in the UK and Europe. He has commented that Brexit so far has not significantly impacted the UK technology startup environment[14] and the potential future impact and second order effects.[15]
