Hulman Center is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA.[2] Initially named the Hulman Civic-University Center, the facility opened on December 14, 1973.[3] Funded by donations and bond issues after an initial $2.5 million challenge gift from philanthropist Tony Hulman, the patriarch of the local Hulman family,[4] it is home to the Indiana State Sycamores basketball team.[2] It has hosted many concerts (including Elvis Presley,[5] Frank Sinatra,[5] Johnny Carson,[6] and John Denver),[7] several NCAA championship events including the 1974 Midwest Region of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The NCAA men's gymnastics finals, and the 1979 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament title game.[8]

The University, city of Terre Haute and Vigo County have begun the process of renovating, enlarging Hulman Center, to include convention center space.[9][10]
